Office Building Emergency Action Plans
New York City’s Local Law 26 requires all commercial office properties to develop emergency action plans for responding to non-fire events such as CBRNE incidents, terrorist attacks, etc. The requirements for these emergency action plans go beyond what is required for fire safety plans under Local Law 5.
Drawing from 20 years of experience developing fire safety plans in New York, AK Productions provides emergency action planning services that will bring your organization into compliance with the new FDNY requirements. AK can produce your EAP document, building information card, in-building relocation diagrams, and develop your training materials. EAP Diagrams From AK Productions
AK Productions has been creating floor plan diagrams in high-rise buildings for more than twenty years. Fire Departments in New York and Los Angeles continue to use our drawings as an example of the correct way to clearly present vital building information. AK's experience creating thousands of building diagrams simplifies the production process for our clients. AK has also been producing building information cards in NYC (now required by Local Law 26) since 1993.
For EAPs, AK staff members walk each floor to identify the location of in-building relocation areas, warden phones, and other information needed for compliance with Local Law 26. Our drawings can be also be used to instruct tenants and staff during training and drill sessions. EAP floor plan diagrams can be delivered electronically and in print. Building information cards are provided in a double-sided, 8.5 x 11 laminated format as required by FDNY.
AK can produce the EAP floor plan diagrams as a stand-alone engagement independent of the EAP plan development process.
Additional EAP Products and Services
In addition to your EAP, AK can also produce support materials, including life safety training videos, which simplify the process of training tenants and staff on the details of your EAP. The final draft of Local Law 26 states that video may be used to educate occupants on the details of your EAP. The FDNY has told AK that having tenants view one of our videos can be used as a substitute for conducting a required EAP instructional drill.
