Live Training & Drills
AK provides engaging live training and drills for occupants, wardens, and building staff. Live training sessions, which can run from quick 10-minute floor awareness drills to half-day or full-day seminars, are taught by veteran firefighters and/or emergency response personnel with experience in both high-rise office buildings and training.
Building Assessment
Prior to conducting any training, our instructors come to your building to thoroughly understand the layout, systems, policies, and procedures already in place. We walk the building with engineers, interview property managers, and meet with key life safety team members to understand the standard procedures and unique challenges of your property. We then adapt our training sessions to reflect what will actually take place in the building.
Warden Team and Staff Training
After the building assessment, AK's trainers conduct training sessions for staff and warden teams. These sessions cover building-specific responses for fire, earthquake, shelter-in-place, partial evacuation, and full evacuation.
Floor Drills
Once warden teams and staff are properly trained, we can then conduct two types of floor drills: stairwell familiarization & evacuation, and shelter-in-place & earthquake response.
To respect tenants' time, our 10-minute drills are concise and fast-paced. Our instructors use stories from their personal experience to make the material more engaging and memorable. Stairwell familiarization drills are conducted on each floor. The shelter-in-place & earthquake drills can be held in a conference room and are open to any occupant.
